While I try to be a Keeper of the Lost Cities blog I also post and reblog a bunch of random bullshit. Though nowadays I try to confine my nonsense to my side blog

Alright here’s the deal:

I’m the official ship person here (somehow) so I accept any ship in my asks and I will come up with a name and try to promote it a bit as long as it’s legal

I also do name hunts! The explanation for which is here but basically if you want a fun way to do a name reveal (although it could really be any sort of reveal you’re comfy with) then message me and I’ll tell ya what you want to know (please note the original post most definitely includes my dead name somewhere on that thread. I’m keeping it here for example however please do not call me that name. If you do, I will block you.)

I wonder… I wonder what the first keeper fic posted on the internet is

I’ve done some research (AO3, Wattpad, fanfiction.net, and Google in general), and as far as I can tell, the first was this very short fanfiction.net story beginning, quickly discontinued. First person, with OCs, and with author commentary in brackets. Published February 19, 2013.

This human AU does come up if you search Google for older fics on Wattpad, but I suspect that the date listed is for the category of story, not the fanfiction itself, since that is where the links go. Still, it came up in two categories, which makes it more likely this was the actual publication date. It’s impossible to confirm, however, since Wattpad does not give publication dates, only the date of most recent update.

The final, even earlier possibility, is this one from October 2, 2012. An obscure blog  post titled “Category: Sokeefe one shots fanfiction“ with, as the name would suggest, several short Sokeefe fanfictions. I suspect this is dated wrong, however, since it contains not only a collection of fanfiction, but fanart as well that came later. October 2, 2012 was when the reprint of the first book was released, so perhaps it was backdated to then for that reason.

So, in conclusion, I think the most reliable theory is the fanfiction.net one, but it is possible the Wattpad one was first too.
